FIA Sub Inspector Past Papers

Post Past Papers520 questionsPage 12/52

Sub Inspector is the entry point for many investigative careers in the agency. This page collects 520 published questions from eight papers: four papers from the 2018 recruitment, including two group papers that carry the OTS label, the 2020 Cyber Crime Wing paper, and three short papers held on 13, 15 and 21 December 2021. The 2021 papers are partial transcriptions of twenty to forty questions each.

For the general Sub Inspector papers, Islamic Studies, English and Pakistan Studies are the three largest subjects, each with over a hundred questions across the set, followed by Geography, Everyday Science and General Knowledge. The Cyber Crime Wing paper is a different animal: almost entirely Computer Science and Computer Networks, with questions on hardware, operating systems, topologies and security. Candidates should check which wing they are applying to before choosing a paper to practise, since the two syllabi barely overlap.

The term 'Hadith' is derived from which root?

Correct answer: A

A
Hadith
Correct
B
Tahadith
C
Both
D
None of these
Explanation and memory cue

The term 'Hadith' is derived from the Arabic root ḥ-d-th (ح-د-ث), which originally means 'to happen' or 'to occur.' By extension, it also means 'to speak,' 'to converse,' or 'a talk or report.' In pre-Islamic Arabic, 'hadith' referred to ordinary speech or small talk, and the noun simply meant 'a saying' or 'a piece of news.' When the early Muslim community began collecting the sayings, actions, and approvals of the Prophet Muhammad, they used this existing word to denote those narrated reports. Therefore, the root of the term 'Hadith' is indeed the root ḥ-d-th itself, making option A correct. Option B 'Tahadith' is a verb form related to speaking or narrating but is not the root itself.
