FIA Assistant Director Legal & Investigation Past Papers

Post Past Papers99 questionsPage 1/10

Assistant Director Legal and Investigation is an officer-grade post that the FIA advertised in 2019 alongside the general Assistant Director cadre. This page holds the 99 published questions of its 2019 paper. Despite the word Legal in the title, the paper as transcribed here is a general screening test, not a law paper; questions on statutes or procedure do not appear in it.

Pakistan Studies is the largest subject at 26 questions, followed by a strong Current Affairs block of twenty, which is a higher share than in any other FIA paper here. Everyday Science, Islamic Studies, English, History and Mathematics follow, with a small but notable cluster of six Astronomy questions. Because it is a single complete paper, it is best attempted in one sitting as a mock test. Candidates preparing for this post should then move on to the general Assistant Director papers, particularly the 2019 batches, which were set in the same recruitment cycle.

FIA Assistant Director Legal & Investigation Past Papers: common questions

Does this paper test law?

Not in the published questions. The 2019 paper is a general screening test covering Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Everyday Science, Islamic Studies, English, History and Mathematics. If a legal component was assessed separately, it is not part of this bank.

Why is Current Affairs so prominent here?

Twenty of the 99 questions are Current Affairs, mostly about appointments, international relations and events of 2018 and 2019. Those answers are correct for that year and are tagged as such. The proportion suggests that officer-grade candidates are expected to follow the news closely.

Which other papers should I practise for this post?

The general Assistant Director papers, especially the 2019 batches one and three, which were set in the same cycle and share the subject balance. The Assistant Director Investigation papers from 2022 are also useful for the FIA Act questions, though this 2019 paper did not include any.
