The Mathematics bank holds close to 1,950 published questions, almost all of them at the arithmetic and basic-algebra level that recruitment tests use to check numerical reasoning. Percentage problems are the largest single group, followed by time and work, averages, profit and loss, compound interest and speed in streams (boats moving with or against a current). Geometry and number theory add variety with questions on angles, areas, divisibility and factors.
What makes this section different from the knowledge-based subjects is that every question has a worked method, not just a fact. The explanation shows the steps, so a wrong answer becomes a lesson in where the calculation slipped. Since the FIA Inspector papers alone contribute around 150 questions here, the difficulty is representative of the real thing: no calculus, no calculator, and a clock running. Practise with a time limit once you are comfortable with the methods.

The 30 members of a club decided to play a badminton singles tournament. Every time a member loses a game he is out of the tournament. There are no ties. What is the minimum number of matches that must be played to determine the winner?
Correct answer: B
In a single-elimination knockout tournament, every match produces exactly one loser who is eliminated. To eliminate 29 players and leave 1 champion among 30 players, exactly 30 - 1 = 29 matches must be played.

Find out the wrong number in the given sequence of numbers: 105, 85, 60, 30, 0, -45, -90
Correct answer: C
Differences between consecutive terms: 105 - 20 = 85; 85 - 25 = 60; 60 - 30 = 30; 30 - 35 = -5 (printed as 0); -5 - 40 = -45; -45 - 45 = -90. Hence, 0 is the incorrect term.

L is older than M and taller than N. O is younger than P, older than N and shorter than Q. R is older than S, younger than N, shorter than S and taller than Q. S is older than L and shorter than N. Which of the following is the tallest?
Correct answer: A
Analyzing the height relationships: L is taller than N (L > N); S is shorter than N (N > S); R is shorter than S (S > R); R is taller than Q (R > Q); O is shorter than Q (Q > O). Combining gives: L > N > S > R > Q > O. Therefore, L is the tallest.

Matric to intermediate arithmetic. Percentages, ratios, averages, simple and compound interest, time and distance, time and work, basic geometry and number properties. There is no calculus and nothing that needs a calculator, which matches the paper-and-pencil conditions of the actual tests.
Yes. Each answer comes with the method laid out step by step, often with the shortcut that experienced candidates use, for example converting a percentage change into a multiplying factor. If you got the right answer by a slower route, the explanation is still worth reading for the faster one.
Learn the standard forms first: work done equals rate times time, downstream speed equals boat speed plus stream speed, and so on. Then attempt thirty questions from the list against a timer. Speed comes from recognising the form instantly, not from doing more arithmetic.
